Subject: Research on BAC

I am looking for current or recent research (last 10 years) which deals

with the optimum BAC for reducing tension or anxiety in an individual.

A colleague & I have found some references to ..055 being the best BAC

for anxiety/tension reducing purposes. The references are rather old; we

are looking for something more recent. Can you help?

Dear Kathy Tidwell,

Thanks for your email re BAC levels and reducing anxiety. Although there is research in this field, it tends to be more related to the number of drinks, measured in units or grams rather than by BAC level, which varies so much from individual to individual if they have consumed the sames number of units, as you are aware. There are a few papers via www.alcohol-aware.com . We have asked Professor Curtis Ellison of Harvard Medical School and others, and they have come back with the same response - little that is specific.

Sorry not to have been of more help.

Best wishes,
